Hi, I would like to join your league. I started fantasy football this year with 2 teams on Yahoo. I am playing for the championship in one of them and just missed the playoffs (lost the tiebreaker) in the other. Being in a keeper league sounds like fun and also I am very active during the season. My name is Pat and my email is

To all of you who have joined the league so far, WELCOME ABOARD! Sorry that communication has been slow to come, I've been really busy lately. Please don't forget to register for an account on this forum so we can get started on your team logos.

Thanks

Playing 3 yrs. total, made the semifinals in 2/3 leagues. Former hs/college player and hs coach, love the game. Retired so plenty of time to participate.

Forming own league on MFL.com but would like to be involved in another league just as an owner, also learn from others.

Thanks

I've had some requests for clarification as to what this new league is all about, so...

...The SMX league was started in 2007 by me, with some friends and competitors from several other leagues. I wanted to start a keeper league that would be more interactive than most of the other leagues that I had participated in. I spent the previous couple of years trying leagues on all of the major sites to see which I thought was the best and finally found the Fleaflicker site which we currently use. It has great customer service and fee live scoring (among other great features). I also started the SMX Forum for even greater personalization & interactivity. The forum allows for customized team logos, more trash talk, polls, news and greater overall ease of communication.

The first season of the league went very well and it was always my hope to grow the league to 24 teams but not in the traditional sense. I don't like the idea of splitting the NFL player pool between 24 teams. So, there will be two conferences of SMX (XFC & SFC). The two current SMX conferences will be merged together form the SMX XFC with two divisions (XFC North & XFC South). The new league will become the SFC, also divided into North & South divisions.

The idea is that two 12 team leagues with identical rules will run completely seperate from each other throughout the season until the championship week. During that week the teams competing for the championship in each league will also be competing for the overall SMX championship with the highest scorer of the two champions taking the title.
